An intimacy that allies us, 203 Lavender St, Singapore. 
(Co-curated as part of Sikapgroup with Zulkhairi Zulkifliee) CURATORIAL PREMISE(‘He should learn to live by learning not how to make conversation with the ghost but how to talk with him, with her, how to let them speak or how to give them back speech, even if it is in oneself, in the other, in the other in oneself: they are always there, specters, even if they do not exist, even if they are no longer, even if they are not yet.’) What are some ways to restructure a group exhibition beyond its overdetermined (and often determined for) thematic structure? ‘an intimacy that allies us…’, a third project under Sikap (LUCKY show, Malais-a-trois), attempts to (re)organize arrangements surrounding collective presentations. It extends intimacy to the farther side of social relations and proxemics (use of space), and problematizes art as mere placeholders. Here, artists are asked to engage in a sense of ‘critical intimacy’ that entails a personal engagement of upending from the inside. It is here where criticality is embodied for oneself and the other. (‘Because you are doing it from the inside, with real intimacy. You’re kind of turning it around. It’s that kind of critique.’) Sikap plays guest to a soon-to-be-renovated studio space located in 203 Lavender, across the previously torn down Eminent Plaza. This self-funded exhibition gathers artists of various disciplines for a period of four days, spanning two weekends during the Singapore Art Week 2019.ARTISTSAnthony Chin (SG)

Hump Day Open Studios, LASALLE Winstedt Campus, Singapore.
Hump Day Open Studio, an one day only event, was initiated to create space for&#38;nbsp;transparency, conversation and inclusivity. It attempts to supplement existing work-in-progress shows curated by Institutions but by proposing anew format and with a necessity of urgency and the possibility of what might still urgently need doing. 
Various LASALLE’s BA level 2 student artists opened their studio/project spaces and presented their studio practice work-in-progress artworks. Along with the open studios some special performances and talks were hosted.  The focus was placed on creating a space for conversation, change, exchange, perspective, connection, friendships and growth.&#38;nbsp;

Rest, Mother of the world&#38;nbsp;taps on acceptance of monsters and extra terrestrial beings in our daily lives. My work, in attempt to portray a demon resting, takes influence from Indian culture and deities.

BAKRA (scapegoat) In this performance, I work around the concept of Satire, an attempt to ‘troll’ the participant through the manipulation of one's encounter by instigating one to follow instructions that are not justifiable. Through this, I am investigating, questioning and commenting the aspect of one letting external outlets, systems or material things dictate / manipulate one’s life.

off-day 'off-day' is a series of performative images responding to my visit to the local temple. Deities in places of worship often are front-facing their worshippers, signifying their undivided attention to said prayers. In this satirical series, depicting myself as a Hindu goddess, I consciously avert the gaze away from the lens, breaking the engagement and taking on a passive role and, through this act, for the goddess to take a break- an off day.
